Dabangg 2, released on 21 December 2012, sees Chulbul killing the brother of a notorious politician, Thakur Bachcha Lal Singh, who then attacks Chulbul's wife in retribution. The sequel received mixed reviews but was declared a blockbuster by Box Office India after its first week, grossing approximately ₹155 crore (around $28 million at 2012 exchange rates) in India alone. Dabangg 3, a circumquel directed by Prabhu Deva, was released on 20 December 2019 and focuses on Chulbul's origin story as he faces an enemy from his past, Balwant 'Bali' Singh. It received negative reviews but grossed an estimated ₹325 crore worldwide, becoming the tenth highest-grossing Bollywood film of 2019.

An animated series based on the franchise, also titled Dabangg, premiered on 31 May 2021 on Cartoon Network and later aired on Pogo TV in February 2022. The series was produced by the same company and Cosmos Maya.
